The project - the patent

The aim of the project is to print functional tissues and organ parts that minimise the possibility of rejection by being created using cells taken from the recipient itself. In the future of which we hope to be a part, we see increasingly complex 3D bioprinting opportunities. Our efforts are directed towards a future that to date has not yet been written.

To achieve this, we had to lay a solid foundation starting with the simplest brick and then progressing with development and research, identifying 6 fundamental steps.

Below is a rendering of our patent (already in the works) submitted in 2023 where we illustrate how a synthetic leather substitute we produce can be used to test cosmetics or drugs. This will one day be able to replace the classic in-vitro skin as it allows for much more data and veracity on the effects of the test. It will also drastically reduce the use of animals in testing.

Il 06/06/2023 è stato depositato il primo brevetto con titolo: MODELLO DI PELLE BIOSTAMPATO, RELATIVO PROCESSO DI STAMPA TRIDIMENSIONALE E DISPOSITIVO DI PERFUSIONE DIRETTA PROVVISTO DI TALE MODELLO (nr. 102023000011436)

From 25/10/2023 to 27/10/2023, Bio System Lab will present the results of its first patent at the world convention established by Cellink on new achievements in 3D Bioprinting

On 06/06/2023, the first patent was filed with the title: BIOSTAMPED LEATHER MODEL, RELATED TRIDIMENSIONAL PRINTING PROCESS AND DIRECT PERFUSION DEVICE PROVIDED FOR SUCH MODEL (No. 102023000011436)

On 17/06/2022 the Bio System Lab Project was presented at the Senate of the Republic during the conference: ‘Cardiovascular pathologies. Prevention and Innovation. On the initiative of Senator Anna Maria Rizzotti’.

Bio System Lab and the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padua have initiated several research contracts for the development and production of bio-tissue prototypes, with human cells, for advanced testing on various types of organs.
